Announcing ‘Birding the Islands by Boat with Doug Pedwell’
JOIN GROUP LEADER DOUG PEDWELL TO DISCOVER THE BIRDS OF THE FISHING ISLANDS OFF THE WEST COAST OF THE BRUCE PENINSULA
We are thrilled to offer four sessions in May and June this season, to bird by boat with Doug Pedwell.
Since retiring from teaching, Doug has been able to indulge his lifelong passions of birding and photography. He can often be found scanning the shoreline of Lake Huron and the Fishing Islands in search of the birds that pass through this beautiful part of the Bruce Peninsula and nest here in the spring. A member of the Bruce Birding Club, the Saugeen Shores Camera Club and a past-president of the Friends of MacGregor Point Park and the Huron Fringe Birding Festival, you will enjoy having Doug share his skill and local knowledge aboard our vessel.
During this 2.0 hour tour we will visit a heron rookery while navigating through the islands. Passengers will remain onboard, and the entire tour is conducted from the boat.
All Aboard for Chair Yoga with Harriet!
We look forward to having Harriet Nixon, a much loved yoga teacher of the Bruce Peninsula join us in the summer of 2018, for five chair yoga boat tours.

We will motor to a sheltered location and drop anchor for your 45 – 60 minute Chair Yoga session boat tour. The sights and sounds of Lake Huron and The Fishing Islands will transform into your holiday yoga studio.

We are pleased to announce that we are going to the birds! Literally! Bruce Peninsula Boat Tours will offer birding tours as part of our regular tour schedule in 2018 in the Fishing Islands of Lake Huron. The new schedule applies to the months of May and June.
We are delighted to offer four sessions of “Birding the Islands by Boat with Doug Pedwell” in 2018. These 2.0 hour tours are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays. Since retiring from teaching, Doug has been able to indulge his lifelong passions of of birding and photography. He can often be found scanning the shoreline of Lake Huron and the Fishing Islands in search of the birds that pass through this beautiful part of the Bruce Peninsula and nest here in the spring. As well, our new “Birding By Boat” tour will depart 3X weekly at 8:30 a.m. for a 2.0 hour tour in May and June, and is designed to provide an opportunity for birders with skill and equipment to get out around the islands. We provide the boat, you bring your birding expertise. Let your binoculars lead you, and we will safely facilitate your birding by boat experience through the islands. (Boat Capacity 7-12 passengers.)
Our tours include a visit to a great blue heron rookery, that is a very busy spot in May and June. (We remain on the boat to observe.) There are usually also a number of white egrets, gulls and cormorants on this island.

THIS SUNSET SHOT IS A 2017 FAV!
Greetings from the Bruce!
We’ve had a wonderful 2017 season… thank you for your patronage!
Islander II and Islander III have been put to bed…. Islander I gets to stay in the water a little longer.
It is hard to pick our best pictures of the year, but this sunset shot has to be one of our 2018 favourites! This was taken in Sandy Bay. (Truly… no filter, no boosting!) Besides, what a great way to show you the boat tour that could be on your 2018 gift-giving list!
SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER 2017
Autumn can provide us with some of our most beautiful days on the water. As well, our small shoreline community is quiet and peaceful… it might be just you, our boat, the water and the islands. We will continue to run well into October, weather permitting.
Consider us for your fall family get-together or corporate event, join us for some chair yoga on the boat the day the kids go back to school, or gift your significant other or parents with a gift certificate for their autumn wedding anniversary. We will continue to offer our regular tour schedule this fall, as well!
ZEN OUT ON LAKE HURON
