We are accepting applications for the 2019 season, for the following positions:
2 Tour Boat Operator/Guides
Start Date : Approx. May 1, 2019
End Date : Approx. October 2018
Work Hours : July/Aug – approx.. 20 – 38 hours/week. Shoulder season – hours could be minimal – 2-4 hrs./week, Sauble River departure location.
Work Hours: approx.. 6-8 hrs. per week in July/Aug, with the potential for more, and potential for some work in the shoulder season.
Oliphant Fishing Islands departure location.

Bruce Peninsula Boat Tours is excited to announce that we will be expanding our tour boat operations in the Oliphant Fishing Islands to include Sauble River Cruises in May 2019.
As a Tour Boat Operator and Guide, you will be part of a team welcoming visitors to our region, conducting and leading a 1 ½ hour guided boat tour on the Sauble River or in the Oliphant Fishing Islands, on one of our 6 or 12-passenger pontoon boats. We are looking for skilled boat operators to safely operate our vessels, who are friendly, enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with the public. Successful applicants will be required to learn guiding material and share knowledge and our history and ecology on our tours. YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE : • Safe operation of a 6 or 12-guest vessel and ensuring the safety of those onboard • Providing safety briefings for passengers • Having a love for the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation and the Bruce and take pride in sharing it with our visitors • Having a flexible schedule and are available to work weekends and holidays. Required Certifications (or willingness to complete with partial subsidy) include: MED A-3, Small Vessels Operator Proficiency Certificate – SVOP, Radio Operator Certificate (marine) – ROC-M, and 2 day Marine First Aid course.
Ticket and Reservation Agent
Work Hours : July/Aug – approx. 18 hours/week. (approx. 2-3 hrs. /day) Availability to work in the shoulder season is desirable, but not essential. Hours would be limited at that time. Sauble River departure location.
As a ticket and reservation agent, you will be part of a team welcoming visitors, selling tickets on location and taking reservations for our tours. As the first point of contact for our customers, we are looking for a positive, cheerful person who enjoys working with the public, provides excellent customer service and understands their important role in our business success. YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE: • Providing telephone and in-person booking and ticketing services • Assisting guests to select the tour boat experience that will most satisfy them • Greeting passengers• Providing information and answering questions • Using technology and booking software to take reservations and create bookings • Providing oversight in the departure location • Solving problems in an environment that can change quickly • Having a flexible schedule and availability to work weekends and holidays.
